WHAT INSPIRED THE CREATION OF

THE BLOG SIDE

Let’s Sea Saint Pierre and Miquelon started as a personal tourism blog. Once a tourist myself while travelling back and forth doing long distance with my partner and now settling in Saint Pierre, my blog gave me the space to share pictures and updates to my friends and family back in Newfoundland. It got the conversation going around tourism in SPM and the ideas started pouring in on how I could help Newfoundlanders and other English speaking-tourists to properly travel here and connect with local businesses of SPM to make the most of their trip here and experience the real SPM.

Meeting and interviewing local businesses to tell their stories about how their business came to be and what they offer became my main mission. I started to focus on how we could support local better by advertising companies to tourists so they could visit during their travels. Tourists are then able to make a connection with the places they will be seeing, because this in an important factor for some tourists. Like myself, connecting with a place I travel to inspires me to explore and go on trips to visit specific places because of how they are put in the spotlight. Providing a honest, genuine and open community blog space is something I strive to maintain so that everyone can come together no matter English, French, or other nationalities and share what they love about their travels to SPM.

HOW COULD I MAKE THIS EVEN BETTER TO BENEFIT BUSINESSES OF SPM?

THE BUSINESS SIDE

I am still providing my blog space FREE to any business that would like to participate in an interview or need something advertised business-related.

Let’s Sea SPM is a micro-enterprise available to all businesses of Saint Pierre AND Miquelon who feel inspired to grow their businesses to work more with English-speaking tourists.  

No business here in Saint Pierre and Miquelon should feel like they can’t grow and flourish to meet the needs of the evergrowing tourism industry. No business should feel limited because of language to allow their ideas, goals and dreams to come to life. This is where I can help do the English for them as a native English speaker. Also, as a Canadian, there is nothing more I love than working with my fellow Canadians to participate in supporting a local business and learn all about a new country. 

Let’s Sea SPM is open to ALL ideas that a business may have and open to discuss with them. The ultimate business goal of Let’s Sea SPM is to support the local people and businesses here. 

The spotlight is theirs and I’m here to help shine it so tourists are able to enjoy their businesses while they are traveling here. It is the people and the businesses that make Saint Pierre and Miquelon, I would love to help them make magic.
